In the south of New Zealand lies a beautiful and powerful place called Central Otago - dominated by rivers and mountains, and shaped by glaciers, which has become the most intriguing place in the world to grow Pinot Noir.
Named ‘Akitu’, which means the summit, apex or highest point because at 380 metres above sea level right on the grape growing edge, against the alps and in the southern most winemaking region on earth lies this family owned vineyard exclusively dedicated to growing exceptional Pinot Noir.
Originally planted in 2002, the winery now produces around 60 tonnes of fruit each vintage - the very best of which goes into making Akitu.
The Result
We were tasked with creating an engaging and user focused site that was built to convert and deliver a great customer journey. Working directly with the Akitu team and wider marketing team, we created a fully optimised platform that brings a fine balance of both form and function by using e-commerce best practices within a streamlined and easy-to-use digital platform. The Akitu brand and values have been clearly communicated through the use of high-level imagery and concise language - all based within a user focused hierarchy to make it easy for customers to travel from site entry to checkout.
